| CLISP is correct here, "t" is a supertype of real.

I am afraid, HyperSpec has a typo in here. For example, 0 is a fixnum, which
is a _subtype_, not _supertype_ of real. Moreover, CLtL2 specifies:

    The default type is implementation-dependent, but it must
    be a subtype of type (or integer float).
