With SLIME 2007-01-29 and SBCL 1.0.2.6 on a MacBook Pro (both the CVS  
head from today), I didn't have any problem running the test.

Note: I built the SBCL with the experimental (on Mac OS X) :sb-thread  
and :mach-exception-handler features turned on.
