Ingo,

thanks for the great work.  Just committed to CVS (along with a few
changes concerning the cells-store stuff, check it out).

I made one quick change in utf-8-to-lisp:
#-(or clisp sbcl) (return-from utf-8-to-lisp str)

I'll look at the other bugs you reported in a second.
